Punjab Police have arrested Amarjit Singh, the pramukh sewadar (chief caretaker) of a Gurudwara in Kapurthala. Amarjit Singh and a mob had brutally killed a man on December 19. The mob killed the unidentified man in the presence of some policemen. Police has registered a case against him and 100 unknown persons for murder, attempt to murder, possessing illegal arms and assaulting police officers on duty. The Madurai bench for Madras High Court has quashed the latest F.I.R. filed against the rationalist youtuber Maridhas. Melapalayam police in Tirunelveli had filed the F.I.R. on August 4, 2020. A local court of Kanpur has sentenced a Mohammedan man, Javed, to 10 years of imprisonment. The Kanpur district and sessions court has also imposed a fine of Rs 30,000/- on the criminal. Javed had presented himself as Munna to a 17 year old Hindu girl by hiding his Muslim identity. The case dates back to 2017.
