Creating a controversy, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) spokesperson Sivaji Krishnamurthy has said “we will send terrorists to gun down” the Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.
His remarks came amid the ongoing rift between state government-led by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the Governor.
“….don’t I have the rights to slap him with slipper if he denies to say Ambedkar’s name? If you deny saying his name, you go to Kashmir. We’ll send a terrorist to shoot and kill you,” Sivaji Krishnamurthy said at a meeting. His comments came after the Governor’s address in the state assembly.
Following this, the BJP has called for a police action against the DMK leader wondering, if the DMK has links with the terrorists. BJP leader Narayanan Thirupathy said Krishnamurthy should be arrested under the Goonda Act.
“It’s DMK’s culture. For last 60 years, they’ve been using foul and filthy language and are known for it. It’s in DMK’s DNA. Shivajii Krishnamoorthy and RS Bharathi had abused Gov RN Ravi and said they’ll kill him. We wonder, if DMK has any links with terrorists,” said Thirupathy, Tamil Nadu BJP vice president. He dared the state police to arrest the duo under Goonda Act.
The DMK-Governor rift
The issue cropped up after the Governor deviated from the government prepared address of his to the state Assembly on January 9.
He skipped certain portions in his address and made some other remarks. Agitated over it, Chief Minister MK Stalin moved a resolution against him. While Ravi staged a walkout from the House. Many of the DMK leaders are now demanding his resignation from the post.
On the other hand, the opposition BJP supported the Governor describing CM’s resolution against the Governor as “disrespectful and amateurish”
