25,000 units of the newly launched XUV 700, an SUV from Mahindra stable, have been booked by consumers in less than 60 minutes of its debut. The company claims that such a massive response is unprecedented in Indian Automotive Industry.

Touted as a competitor for Tata Safari, MG Hector and Hyundai Alcazar, the XUV700 has been launched in both, Petrol and Diesel engines. With a starting price of 11.99 Lakh for Petrol version and 12.49 Lakh for Diesel, it has generated huge interest among wannabe owners and Auto experts. Having achieved its target for the day in 57 minutes flat, the bookings were closed for its launch date.

Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of Mahindra and Mahindra tweeted that the initial rush by eager consumers resulted in a “slow experience” for the online users.

25,000 vehicles booked in 57 minutes. Even though the user experience online was slow since the traffic was overwhelming. (Despite adding server capacity in anticipation!)
We are humbled.. & we recognise the consumer trust this indicates & the responsibility upon our shoulders. https://t.co/U7AhgIT8AW
