Mumbai: Their names are Mohammad Shaikh, Mohammad Naqeeb. They were harassing a Korean tourist in Mumbai. Mumbai Police moved in swiftly and arrested them.
It was a nightmarish experience for young Mhyochi. She was in Khar, Mumbai, merrily shooting video for her social media posts. Just like any other young tourist, she was bubbly and happy.
Suddenly, one of the accused appeared and gripped her arm. He started pulling her towards his two-wheeler. Probably, he was unaware that her camera was rolling. A visibly shocked Mhyochi protested. She could not understand what was going on.
The culprit Mohammad, started asking her to sit on his bike. He was saying, “Gaadi mein baithati” (Sit on my bike). Mhyochi started saying No, No, No… She tried to maintain her composure and refused to sit on his bike. To get out of the situation, she said that she won’t sit as she is wearing a dress.
After this she started moving away. At this, Mohammad, put one hand around Mhyochi’s neck and kissed her. She got out of his grip and started moving. To her camera, she said, “time to go home”.
But that was not the end of her ordeal. Emboldened by her meekness or her smiling face, Mohammad along with his accomplice Mohammad started following her on their two wheeler. They asked her to sit on her bike to which she refused by saying that her home is nearby.
A twitter user Aditya posted the video and tagged Mumbai Police.
Mumbai Police was pro-active
Mhyochi then narrated her side of her story. She wrote, “Last night on stream, there was a guy who harassed me. I tried my best not to escalate the situation and leave because he was with his friend. And some people said that it was initiated by me being too friendly and engaging the conversation. Makes me think again about streaming.”
Mumbai Police immediately swung into action and contacted her.
Such incidents bring a bad name to the entire nation. A nation having the philosophy of “Atithi devo Bhavah” (Guest is like a god) should not tolerate such beastly mindset.
