Mumbai: Vikas Walker, the father of unfortunate Shraddha is fighting for justice. He has alleged that Mumbai Police did not act in time. He has met deputy CM of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis demanding justice for his slain daughter.

Vikas Walkar is accusing Vasai and Nalasopara police for laxity in investigation relating to his daughter. He said that Shraddha had submitted an application citing assault by Aftab to the police.

The Nalasopara police in November 2020 had confirmed this to the media. They said that Shraddha had refused to undergo medical tests. At that time Anil Deshmukh was the home minister in Uddhav’s cabinet.

“My daughter would have been alive if Vasai police had helped me,” Vikas Walkar, Shraddha’s father told reporters at Marathi Patrakar Sangh in Mumbai accompanied by BJP leader Kirit Somaiyya here on Friday.

Aftab had strangulated his live-in partner Shraddha and chopped her into 35 pieces and stored them in a fridge before dumping them in various parts of Delhi city. Vikas Walker had expressed suspicion that Aftab killed Shraddha due to Love Jihad. Aftab also hinted the same to the police.

Investigation into Shraddha’s disappearance began on October 6 this year when Vikas approached Delhi police. Four days later, a missing case was registered. Two rounds of questioning of Aftab led to his arrest in Delhi. Mumbai policemen were in Delhi from November 8 to 12 to help in the investigation.

Vikas demanded caital punishment for Aftab who brutally murdered his daughter. He also demanded inclusion of the names of Aftab’s family in the chargesheets.

Seema Kushwaha, lawyer of Vikas, said dating apps should be monitored as there can be criminals and terrorists using them, though people have the right to use them.
