New Delhi: The police have solved a 6-month-old gruesome Delhi murder of a Hindu woman. Her Muslim friend had brutally hacked her to death after she sought marriage. As per reports, Aftab killed Shraddha because she wanted marriage instead of live-in relationship.
The brutality of the murder lies in the Muslim killer chopping off the woman’s body into 35 pieces. Not only that, he stored the body in a fridge for 18 days at his house.
The accused has been identified as Aftab, who was in love with Shraddha.
Shraddha and Aftab fell in love with each other while working at a call centre in Mumbai. Shraddha’s family however, was against her relationship with Aftab. As a result, the couple eloped to the national capital and started living together.
After settling in Delhi, Shraddha pushed for marriage, but Aftab was allegedly reluctant. On May 18, Aftab allegedly murdered Shraddha by strangulating her. Later he chopped her into 35 peices.
Bought new fridge to store body
He purchased a 300-litre fridge to store pieces of Shraddha’s body. As per reports, he has confessed to the police that he kept her body parts in the fridge. He used to leave his apartment every night to dispose of a piece of her body. He said that he did so in the national capital and he did it around forest areas. It took him 16 days to completely dispose of the body parts.
On November 8, Shraddha’s father came to Delhi after his family stopped receiving calls from her. Moreover, she was not updating her social media accounts. After failing to locate her, he lodged a complaint with Mehrauli police.
Based on this complaint, the Mehrauli police arrested Aftab for the murder of Shraddha. The question on their mind was – Has Aftab killed Shraddha?
The police got the lead on Shraddha’s murder during interrogation of Aftab who admitted of killing her because she was pushing for marriage. He told the police that he burnt incense sticks to keep away odour of decomposing body.
