Three Hindu minors, who were forcibly converted to Islam in a children’s home at Raisen in Madhya Pradesh, have finally got reunited with their parents after a gap of two years.
The forcible conversions had come to light when National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Priyank Kanoongo had come for an inspection at this children’s home. Through a Twitter post, Kanoongo confirmed, “The three children have reunited with their parents.”
The trio reached their home along with Bal Kalyan Samiti and the local police in Damoh. Father of the children works as a labourer in a private firm. During the first lockdown, the family had got separated.
After getting lost, the three minors were spotted by an NGO that got them shifted to the children’s home. But here operator Mohmmad Hasin Parvez posed as their guardian and fraudulently converted them to Islam. He allegedly changed their names to Muslim names and also got Aadhaar cards made with these new names.
After a year, their father got to know that his children are at this centre. But, he was not given the custody of his own kids and was shooed away from there several times.
Following which, the harassed parent complained to the child rights commission whose chairperson Kanoongo raided the place and got the children freed. He has directed the city police to register an FIR against the accused for forcible conversions.
