Chandigarh: For those who have nose for politics, the slackness of AAP government for not taking serious note of the Intelligence that an attack would be carried out by Khalistani terrorists in Punjab, should not surprise them.

On December 9, Khalistan terrorists launched an attack on Sarhali Police station in Punjab’s Tarn Taran. Terrorists used a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) for the attack.

The Intelligence had alerted them about the possible attack, but the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government ignored the warning.

The attack has become the talking point across the nation. People are asking why AAP government to ignore the Intelligence input about the possible terrorist attack.

Advertisment

Most of the political analysts are pointing to a statement by former AAP leader Kumar Vishwas in February this year. The explosive revelations by Vishwas had hinted at a dangerous mindset.

In an interview to ANI, he had claimed that AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal was supportive of separatists in Punjab. “I had told Kejriwal during the 2017 Punjab elections that don’t take support of the fringe elements, separatists and people associated with the Khalistani movement. He, however, said it will be managed, don’t worry,” Kumar Vishwas had told ANI in February.

Further elaborating the event, the ex-AAP leader said Kejriwal had told him about his intentions about Punjab. He had said that he would either become CM of independent Suba or first prime minister of an independent nation.

“When I warned him that Pakistan’s ISI and other agencies across the world are funding the referendum organised by US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) to decide whether Khalistan should be carved out of Punjab, he (Kejriwal) replied saying, “so what then I would become the first prime minister of an independent nation,” Kumar Vishwas said.

Pannu takes up responsibility

Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu has claimed responsibility for
the attack. He also claimed that rocket launchers and bombs have reached every house in Punjab. Due to these weapons, Punjab will become independent from India.

Pannu said the attack was his revenge against the 1947 Punjab government for making families coming from Jalandhar homeless.

The Khalitani terrorist also has threatened CM Mann. He said that if he follows the path of Beant Singh then he will meet the same fate as the former chief minister met.

Pannu also challenged Mann to cross Tarn-Taran bridge if he dared.

Centre should act

After the AAP government assumed office, the activities of Khalistani terrorists have increased in Punjab. It is necessary for the central government to take strict action as soon as possible.

The Centre should also take strict action against Punjab Government for being slack. Even when the Intelligence agencies had shared input of a possible attack.
