Law and order continues to go haywire in the AAP-ruled Punjab. The Sarhali police station in Tarn Taran was attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday.

The police station falls on the Amritsar-Bathinda national highway. The attack is said to have been carried out by Khalistan-backed terrorists linked to Pakistan.

The RPG hit the wall inside the police station after penetrating the iron gate. The building largely remained unaffected as the rocket rebounded after hitting the outer pillar of the police station. Cops were working inside when the attack took place, but so far there is no information of anyone getting hurt in the incident.

Different police teams have rushed to spot and recovered the rocket from the station.

Similarly, Punjab police’s intelligence headquarters building in Mohali was attacked with RPG on May 9. This was second such incident in about seven months. Canada-based notorious gangster Lakhbir Singh alias Landa was the main accused behind the Mohali attack. However, he is still absconding. Landa, who is a native of Harike village, few kms away from Sarhali in Taran Taran, has been booked in about 30 criminal cases.

Another gangster and Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Singh Rinda also hails from Tarn Taran
