UP Police has arrested a Muslim man for hiding his identity in order to lure a Hindu girl. Name of the accused is Haseen Saifi. He is a resident of Dadri in Noida, UP.
Saifi had introduced himself as Ashish Thakur to the unsuspecting Hindu girl. When she found out that he is not a Hindu, she started avoiding him. When Saifi persisted, she approached the local police.
UP police has filed an FIR no. 596 against Saifi. Police have invoked section 420 of Indian Penal Code (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property). The second section applied against Saifi is section 376 of Indian Penal Code.
Cops have booked him under section 5(6) of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Law, 2020.
