Bengaluru: Kantara is a rare movie. It is unapologetically Hindu in its approach. A stark contrast to what Bollywood keeps on churning out. The established anti-Hindu cabal had to hit, sooner or later. A little-known band from Kerala, named Thaikkudam Bridge, has dragged Kantara to court.

Thaikkudam Bridge has alleged Kantara of plagiarising the song “Varaaha Roopam” in the movie. The band filed the case in Kozhikode district court.

The latest update on the issue is that the court has lifted the ban on it after it rejected the petition of the music band. This decree might have relieved Rishabh Shetty’s crew, but the court has restrained Kantara from using the song in the film immediately. Delayed justice for all practical reasons is useless.

As per intellectual property rights laws, there can be no copyright on traditional knowledge. And probably, Thaikkudam cannot sustain its intellectual property claims.

Nevertheless, the music band’s legal course has helped Kantara rake in more money. Simultaneously, Thaikkudam has earned the wrath of not only Karnataka people but a sizeable section of Hindu society worldwide. Kerala is a small market for the band compared to the rest of South.

Anti Hindu band?

For all its worth, it is better to know who are the men behind Thaikkudam Bridge. They are Govind Menon, Siddharth Menon and Ashok Betty Nelson. He has been in controversies due to his association with the notorious Stephen Devassy for many years.

Devassy is the same person whom CBI had questioned in connection with the death of violinist Balabhaskar. The violinist’s family and relatives allege that his death was not an accident, but a planned murder.

Nelson is the son of MA Baby, a Marxist leader and Politburo member. Baby had awarded the notorious painter M.F.Hussain, the Raja Ravi Verma award. Hussain is notorious for hurting religious sentiments of Hindus. Baby is a regular Hindu baiter. He solemnized his son’s marriage during Rahu Kalam to send out message that Hindu traditions are unhealthy.

Thus, Thaikkudam Bridge is just another communist propaganda aid.
