Special cell of Delhi Police has nabbed Muntajim for killing Ankit Sharma from Meerpet area of Telangana. Muntajim is one of the accused in the brutal murder of Ankit Sharma. Ankit was working for Intelligence Bureau (IB). Police found Ankit’s body in a drain near house of AAP councillor Tahir Husain. Tahir is one of the key accused in anti-Hinud Delhi riots.
Muhammad Muntajim had been absconding for last two years. Delhi Police had announced an award of Rs 50,000/- on his head. Police received information that Muntajim is living in Telangana for last six months. A team led by ACP Lalit Mohan Negi went to arrest him. The Police team arrested him from a chemist shop in Meerpet, Telangana.
Pramod Singh Kushwah, DCP (Special Cell), said, “During arrests of the co-accused, Muntajim’s role had come up. We had sufficient evidence but he absconded. Our teams were looking for the riots accused and men involved in the larger conspiracy. We recently received inputs that he had been living in Telangana for six months.”
“We have voice call recordings about his involvement. He is saying ‘chalo, maarna hai’ and ‘sab aa jao’ while talking about Sharma. He was one of the assailants,”
Planned anti-Hindu Delhi riots to teach “Kafirs” a lesson
The riots started in February, 2020. But, they were not spontaneous as propagated by Islamists. They were well planned. As per Tahir Hussain’s disclosure, he wanted to teach Kafir Hindus a lesson.
Delhi Police has mentioned that Tahir met Khalid Saifi and Umar Khalid on January 8, 2020 to plan the riots. They hatched this plan at Shaheen Bagh where anti-CAA protests were being carried out.
Police has already arrested his two accomplices Sameer and Muhammad Salman. According to the charge sheet of Police, Tahir Hussain is the master mind of the anti-Hindu riots. Others accused of Ankit’s murder are – Anas, Firoz, Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Gulfam, Shoaib Alam, Mohammad Salman, Nazeem, Mohammad Qasim and Sameer Khan.
During interrogation, Mohammad Muntajim has revealed that police had earlier arrested him for rape and kidnapping.
According to the Eye witness’ account, a mob of rioters pulled Ankit Sharma in the building of Tahir Hussain. The anti-Hindu rioters stabbed him multiple times. According to post-mortem report, his body had 51 wounds. The killers had beaten up the victim and simultaneously stabbed him repeatedly.
