Melbourne: Apparently, Australian authorities are repeatedly failing to curb Khalistani activities on its soil. Sacred Hindu temples continue to be under attack. Third such shocking incident within a short span of one month has come to light.

This latest incident has enraged the community not just in Australia, but world over. Khalistani bigots attacked the Melbourne-located Sri Sri Radha Ballabha ISCKON Albert Park temple. They defaced the Temple wall with anti-India graffiti by painting hateful slogans on it. The graffiti read – “Khalistan Zindabad, “Hindustan Murdabad” and “Sant Bhindrawale is martyr”.

Earlier attacks by Khalistani bigots

Earlier on January 12 an unidentified group had vandalised the walls of BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in the suburb of Mill Park. The vandals had written “Hindustan Murdabad” on the walls. Authorities suspect Khalistani terrorists have perpetrated the hate crime. The group had praised slain terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale by writing ‘Marytr’ on the temple’s walls.  Similarly, on January 17, another Melbourne-based Hindu temple was covered in hate graffiti against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After Canada, Pakistan-sponsored Khalistani activities against India and Hindus are increasing in Australia. But sadly, the authorities have failed to do the needful.

Advertisment

A group of Khalistani supporters had earlier waved separatist flags at the event organised under the banner of the Victorian Sikh Gurdwara Council and funded by the Australian government.

This had prompted the senior Indian government officials to take up the matter with Australia’s Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Home Affairs Minister Claire O’Neil. The Indian side mentioned the recent such incidents expressing a deep concern over the rising support for the Khalistan movement.
