The penetration of Christian Missionaries and their propaganda has reached alarming proportions. Especially in Telangana. The latest foolish statement by Dr G Srinivasa Rao, Director of Public Health, Telangana is a testimony to it. He has said that it is Jesus who has defeated Covid in India.
At a time when China is again witnessing a fresh wave of Covid infections and India is preparing to thwart any possible major wave here, everybody would expect a doctor to give a wise medical comment especially on the epidemic. But Telangana’s Director of Public Health Dr G Srinivasa Rao has stoked a controversy. He is crediting Jesus for defeating Covid-19 in India, thereby, belittling the works of lakhs of doctors and medical professionals.
In a superstitious remark, Dr Srinivasa Rao has said that the “blessings and kindness of Jesus Christ” caused the defeat of Covid-19. He was speaking at a Christmas function, organised by Dr G S R Charitable Trust. He had founded the trust in the memory of his father in September 2021 at Kothagudem in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
“We could defeat Covid not because of our work, but due to the blessings and kindness of Lord Jesus Christ,’’ he claimed. “If there are any successors of the modern culture in India or Telangana, it is the Christians. Everybody should be aware of it…Covid-19 subsided because of Lord Jesus,” he added.
Penetration of Christian Missionaries
The Trust had invited “pastors and laypersons’’ for the ‘Joy of Christmas’ event at Srinagar Colony at Kothagudem on Wednesday. Govt appointed him as Telangana Director of Public Health in May 2018. He started his career in the health department in 2004.
His father was also a doctor, who mainly worked in tribal areas. Dr G Srinivasa Rao said the Trust will open a hospital in the coming years for tribals in his home district where treatment will be free of cost. He also promised to support education and skill enhancement in the district.
It is worth mentioning that the Christian missionaries have been increasing their presence in tribal areas in the guise of welfare. Poor tribal often fall into their traps.
