Yet another Congress leader has given outrageous statement against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This time Madhya Pradesh Congress leader Raja Pateriya has remarked “be ready to kill” PM Modi.
In a viral video Pateriya is heard saying to a small gathering of party workers that be ready “kill” PM Modi in order to save the Constitution.
“Modi will end elections, Modi will divide on the basis of religion, caste, language; the lives of Dalits, tribals, and minorities are in a danger. If the constitution is to be saved, then be ready to kill Modi,” the former state minister is heard saying so in the video which has sparked outrage. He, however claimed that by the word “murder” he meant “defeat.”
Based on state government’s order to act against him, the local police have registered an FIR against Pateriya. He was subsequently arrested from his Hata town house in Damoh district.
Condemning the statement, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, tweeted, “The reality of those pretending to be on the Bharat Jodo Yatra is coming to the fore. Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji resides in the heart of the public. Congress people are unable to compete with him in the field, that is why they are talking about killing him.”
Sharing the said video, BJP’s spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala, said, “Congress leader and former minister Raja Pateria incites people to kill PM Modi – earlier too Cong leaders spoke about death of PM Modi (Sheikh Hussain). But now a death threat! After “Aukat dikha denge” “Raavan” this is Rahul Gandhi’s Pyaar ki Rajniti? Will they act on him? No!”
Meanwhile, the Congress while distancing itself from the statement, expressed dismay over the comments.
