Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev has taken on top Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan and Sharukh Khan, over the use of drugs.
“Salman Khan consumes drugs, I do not know about Aamir Khan. Shah Rukh Khan`s son was caught taking drugs and remained in the jail. So-called big film stars take drugs. As far as actresses are concerned, God alone knows about them,” claimed the yoga guru during his speech at Aryaveer and Veerangana conference in Moradabad.
“Drugs are all pervasive in the film industry, there are drugs in politics too. Liquor is distributed during polls. We should take a pledge that India must be free from every drug addiction. We will launch a movement against it,” he added at the anti-drugs campaign launch in Uttar Pradesh.
Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was arrested in the drugs-on-cruise case, which made national headlines and even shook the political circles. One of the top officers investigating the matter was also shifted. But later Aryan was cleared of charges due the lack of evidence. Thus, the star kid was granted bail.
Due to the perceived drugs circle in Bollywood, the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput had created a national storm. The Narcotics Control Bureau had even charged actor Rhea Chakraborty for buying drugs for her actor-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. SSR died in 2020, under mysterious circumstances.
Besides, on several occasions, videos of Bollywood celebrities hooked to drugs have gone viral.
